Behind every trade
is a person

How Perchstone members changed the way they
see it—and themselves.

CHANGING THE VIEW

“The investor in my head wore a pinstripe suit and a heavy watch. Perchstone quietly rewrote that picture for me.”

Money was never a dinner-table topic in Marisela’s house, so the first time she wanted to set some aside she had no idea where to begin. She opened a Perchstone account with a small amount and left it alone. Three years on, the last of her tuition loan is cleared and a transfer runs every second Friday. She still checks the balance on the bus home most nights.

STEPS TOWARD A HOME

“I’m making the kind of money decisions that grow with me and get me a front door.”

Investing usually belonged to people who already had the deposit. Devonte started the other way round, moving twenty dollars at a time into a Perchstone vault. The house now has a number. He has not touched the vault once since he opened it.

LIFTING OTHERS

“In rooms where money gets discussed, women are still the quietest ones. Speaking up here has done more for my nerve than anything.”

The case for investing is the same for everyone, but the room is not. Priya used the explainers inside Perchstone to find her footing before she put in a cent, and she is now the one her sister calls first about money. Four friends have since opened accounts of their own. The group meets on the last Sunday of the month.

OWNING THE CALL

“For the first time the earnings are mine to direct—and so are the calls I make.”

Ingrid’s income arrives in uneven lumps, which made every long plan feel theoretical. A percentage rule inside Perchstone took the decision out of any single month, and the money moves whether or not she is in the mood to move it. That pace is what she notices. The bad weeks no longer decide anything for her.

A DAILY HABIT

“I turned learning into a morning habit, and my choices feel far less like guesses.”

Tomas, 29

Tomas builds his plan around staying power rather than any one clever call. He set short horizons to make the market legible, then filled the gaps with the Perchstone morning digest on his commute. Eight minutes a day for a year did the rest. He has not missed a single morning since March.

BACKING GOOD WORK

“I like backing companies whose work I would defend at dinner. It feels like shared ground.”

Emeka, 31

The companies in a portfolio can also be the ones you would argue for. Emeka started using Perchstone to read up on smaller firms working on water reuse and rural clinics, and choosing to hold them gave him more than a quarterly return. He passes the research on to his brother most weekends.
