Our story.

Nadia Okonjo spent eleven years watching capable companies lose capable people to paperwork. Payroll living in one system, contracts in another, and nobody quite sure which version was current.

We started in Lisbon in 2016 with a single payroll engine and forty customers. Fourteen countries later, the awkward edges of employment are still the only problem we work on.

Making employment simpler and fairer, everywhere.

After a few years of working with employers across three continents, we kept hearing the same thing from their staff: the money side of work is opaque, slow, and quietly stressful.

So we built Tally, a companion app that shows people what they have earned, what is arriving, and what it is actually worth after the deductions.

Our leaders.

An employment lawyer for eighteen years, Nadia Okonjo founded Windrose with the engineer Petra Salm in 2016. Both still sit in on customer onboarding calls most Fridays, which keeps the roadmap honest.

Our team.

We are 460 people across fourteen countries, and most of us had never worked in HR software before joining. We treat that as a feature rather than a gap.

We hire for judgement over pedigree, write our decisions down so they can be argued with later, and would rather ship something small this month than something immaculate next year.
