Tusen takk, Marit — it means a lot that the mornings stayed with you. The stove is stacked and the tide table is on the door whenever you come back.

Listing photos do not match the cabin we walked into
Please read carefully before you book. The listing shows a cedar hot tub and "hotel-grade linen" — neither was there. What we found was a cold plunge barrel half full of rainwater and bedding that had clearly not been changed. We assumed a mix-up and messaged the host the same evening, who told us the barrel counts and that the linen photo was from a previous season. We asked for a partial refund and were refused twice before the platform stepped in.

Skerry Cabin · Host
This booking was made under a different name and the guest listed here did not check in with us. We have asked Saltmere to review the record. The plunge barrel is described as a cold barrel in the listing text, and the linen is laundered off-site between every stay.

Worth the long drive down the peninsula
Three nights in November and it rained for two of them, which turned out to be the point. The stove draws well, there is a proper drying rack for coats, and the walk down to the cove takes about eleven minutes. One mark off only because the lane in is single-track and we scraped a wheel arch in the dark.

Quiet, warm, and closer to the water than we expected
We came for the coastal path and barely used the car after the first day. Kitchen is small but genuinely equipped — cast iron pan, sharp knives, a grinder. The host left a hand-drawn map of the tidal crossing which saved us an hour of guessing.
