Kettlewood is an unusual kind of studio: employee-owned, deliberately small, and profitable for eleven straight years. We map and rebuild the services people are stuck inside — transit ticketing, municipal benefits, hospital intake — and we ship the working thing, not the deck.
You would join the Rotterdam practice as our seventh designer, paired with a researcher and a delivery lead on one engagement at a time. No pitch weeks, no billable-hour scoreboard.
Our team
The Kettlewood experience team owns the whole arc of an engagement, which is a rare kind of responsibility — the same people who sit in the intake interviews also write the service blueprint and stand behind the launch.
- We stay curious: every engagement opens with two weeks in the field before a single artefact gets drawn.
- We sit with the edge cases: the person on hold for 40 minutes tells us more than the happy path ever will.
- We design in public: blueprints, journey maps and open questions live on a shared wall from week one.
- We hand over well: a service we cannot leave behind is a service we have not finished.
