Our approach rests on three habits — we take down material that breaks the rules we publish, we lift work from sources worth trusting, and we slow the spread of anything that sits close to the line without quite crossing it.
Those rules are written in plain language, reviewed on a fixed schedule with outside advisers, and enforced by a mix of trained reviewers and machine screening. In the first quarter of this year, 8.4 million uploads were removed before they reached 12 views.
