Making room for teaching in a stretched year

Bringing dozens of scattered schools—large and small, coastal and inner-city—under one trust creates real friction. Several of the schools that joined Ravenmoor arrived with a long record of weak results, and roughly a third sit in the districts hit hardest by low household income. The trust set out to lift those results with technology carrying a fair share of the load. In 2013 it standardised on Slatework Base as the single system for mail, file storage and shared documents across every site, then added Slatework Rooms two years later.

“For us, Slatework is the leveller,” says Priya Ellensworth, head of digital learning at Ravenmoor Learning Partnership. “Everyone already knows how to use it, so the jump is a short one. It strips out the difficulty for staff who aren’t technical, and it was the only platform that could grow with us as more schools joined.”
