Where first careers begin

A note from our founder:

If you have been through a first job search, you know the version of it we grew up with: a résumé dropped into a portal, a referral you did not have, and a shortlist drawn from four campuses. In 2013 we set out to change where that search starts — on day one of college, not week six of senior year.

The people entering work now grew up on feeds. They expect a platform that reads like a place they already belong: honest about pay, honest about what a job is actually like, and useful before anyone asks them to apply.

So we rebuilt it. Halyard is a network where opportunity and advice sit side by side — 14 million students across 1,320 institutions, and 840,000 employers posting roles and internships that never make it to a job board.

This is the Halyard early-career network — where first careers begin.

Company overview

Halyard exists to make the first rung of a career reachable from anywhere. The network connects 14 million students, alumni, and career educators with the people who hire them — so advice, discovery, and a first offer happen in the same place instead of three.

840,000 organisations recruit on Halyard: hospital systems and school districts, four-person studios and hundred-year-old manufacturers, public agencies and the companies that did not exist when this year's graduating class started school. Halyard is built for where someone is going, not where they have already been.

Our studios sit near transit, come with proper equipment and decent coffee, and leave enough room for the hybrid half of the team to do their best work in person.
