I took a small bite and stayed sceptical — how does a debut about a mother's kitchen carry this much weather in it? By the second chapter I had stopped asking. The writing on regret and small rooms made me misty-eyed while the descriptions of comfort food made my stomach growl.

We were three friends scattered across Europe, all looking for a better way to keep track of what we were reading and pass books between us. Nothing quite fit, so we built it ourselves. We don't have deep pockets or endless hours, but we're willing to bet we can make up for that by working carefully and taking pride in the details.
