Photo Guidelines

One clear picture of the finished dish is all we need. Shoot it on the counter where you cooked it — daylight from a window does more for a plate than any filter.

  • Shoot in daylight if you can. Overhead kitchen bulbs turn everything amber.
  • Fill the frame with the dish — we crop to a square for the recipe card.
  • At least 1400 px on the short edge, or it will look soft on a phone.
  • Photos with people, packaging, or other cooks' work in frame get sent back.
A cook on our test kitchen team reads every submission — usually within four days.
