Which machines does the app support?
The Tacet desktop app runs on 64-bit desktop systems released in the last four years. A build for older machines is in private testing.
Is the desktop app free?
Yes. The app is free forever and included with the device — you only ever pay for the Tacet itself.
Can Tacet see or log my browsing?
No. Your block list stays on your devices and the filter runs locally. We never receive the addresses you visit, and there is nothing on our side to hand over.
Will it slow my machine down?
It sits idle in the menu bar and uses roughly 40 MB of memory. Requests are matched against a local list, so page loads stay the speed they were.
Which browsers does it cover?
All of them. Because the block happens at the network layer rather than as an extension, anything on the machine is covered — including apps that open pages in a window of their own.
Do I still need my phone to start a session?
For now, yes — the tap is read by your phone, which tells the desktop app to begin. Direct desktop reading arrives with the next hardware revision.
