What does Feldstone actually do?
Feldstone blocks the apps you pick and silences their notifications. Hold your phone to the disc and the apps you chose become unreachable and stop notifying you — tap it again to bring them back.
Does it work on every phone?
Any phone made in roughly the last six years will work — the disc uses the same short-range chip your phone already uses for contactless payments. If your phone can read a transit card, it can read a Feldstone.
Does it need a subscription or batteries?
Neither. The disc has no battery and nothing to charge; it draws the tiny amount of power it needs from your phone during the half-second scan. The app is free forever with the disc, and there is no plan to upsell you later.
How does it connect to my phone?
It doesn't pair or stay connected. Each scan is a one-off handshake that flips a switch inside the app — there is no wireless session running in the background and no radio left listening.
Will it slow my phone down or drain the battery?
No. Blocking is handled by the screen-time controls already built into your phone, so nothing of ours runs while you go about your day. Measured battery cost over a week of normal use sits under 0.4%.
Can I choose which apps get blocked?
Yes — pick any combination of apps, and save up to six named sets. Most people keep one for deep work, one for evenings and one for weekends, then swap between them in a tap.
Can I block websites, not just apps?
You can. Add any domain to a set and it is blocked across every browser on the device, including private windows. Subdomains are matched automatically.
What happens if I lose the disc?
Unlock from the app with your passcode, then order a replacement for $19 with free shipping. Discs are not tied to an account, so a spare from a friend works on your phone straight away.
When will my order arrive?
Orders leave our workshop within one working day. Delivery runs 2–4 days domestically and 6–11 days elsewhere, and every order is tracked from the moment it is packed.
Can I return my Feldstone?
Use it for 45 days. If it hasn't changed how your evenings go, send it back for a full refund — return postage included, and you keep the app data in case you come back.
Is checkout secure?
Yes. Payment is handled entirely by our processor over an encrypted connection, with card verification on every transaction. Card numbers never reach our servers and are never stored by us.
