Asked Questions

01 —Whimbrel’s approach

What is Whimbrel and how can it help me?

Whimbrel is a preventive health and diagnostics clinic built around measurement rather than symptoms. We take an evidence-based approach to precision medicine, collecting more than 1,100 data points across 34 evaluations in a single half-day visit.

Using advanced imaging, functional testing and a full panel run in our own CLIA-certified lab, we look early for cardiovascular, metabolic, neurodegenerative and oncologic risk — then hand you the data, the interpretation and a plan you can act on this year.

How is Whimbrel different from a regular doctor or a concierge practice?

A primary-care visit is built to answer the question you walked in with. Whimbrel is built to find what you would not have thought to ask about — and we bring the imaging suite, the lab and the clinicians who read them into one appointment instead of five referrals.

What makes the Whimbrel experience different from similar clinics?

Everything happens under one roof in a single visit, and your results are returned as a narrative review with a physician rather than a portal dump. Members keep the same care lead year over year, so each panel is read against your own baseline instead of a population average.

Who leads Whimbrel’s medical team?

Our clinical program is led by Dr. Imani Okafor, a preventive cardiologist, alongside a standing team of 14 physicians across radiology, endocrinology, neurology and sports medicine. Every result set is reviewed by at least two of them before it reaches you.
