$SBW Answers

A plain-language guide to $SBW, veSBW, vaults and steward rewards

Nothing here is investment guidance — confirm every figure on chain before acting. Expect edits: stewards vote on the charter, so what $SBW does may shift between epochs.

Basics

What does $SBW do?

$SBW is the ledger token behind the Sablewyn treasury. Holding it lets you sign votes on charter changes, and locking it opens the vault reward track described further down this page.

Is there a way to earn $SBW without buying?

Yes. Wallets that settled at least three trades on the network before the snapshot block have an allocation waiting, and contributors who shipped merged work in the last two epochs receive a second tranche.

How do I check my current $SBW balance?

Link a wallet at the top of this page and the balance panel reads the ledger directly. Any block explorer will show the same figure if you paste the token contract into its holdings tab.

Is there a deadline for unclaimed allocations?

Allocations stay claimable for 214 days from the epoch they were minted in. Whatever is still sitting unclaimed after that window returns to the treasury and is redistributed in the next reward round.

Where does $SBW actually get used?

Three places: signing votes on treasury proposals, locking into a vault to mint veSBW, and paying the settlement fee on ledger transfers at a reduced rate.

What is veSBW?

veSBW is the non-transferable receipt you get for locking $SBW in a vault. Its weight scales with lock length, from 11 weeks up to four years, and it decays linearly as the lock runs down.

Which venues list $SBW today?

The deepest pools sit on the network's own automated market makers. The foundation does not run a venue, does not seed listings, and cannot vouch for any third-party market that quotes the ticker.

Who do I talk to about vault rewards and epochs?

Post in the public forum thread pinned under Rewards — stewards answer there in the open. Nobody from the foundation will ever open a direct message first or ask you for a seed phrase.
