How do I wash and store my pieces?
Cold rinse, gentle cycle, inside out. Skip the dryer — lay flat in shade and the weave keeps its shape far longer. Waxed outer layers only need a damp cloth and a re-wax once a season.
Which fit should I order?
Every listing carries a measured chart in centimetres plus the height and size of the person wearing it. Our outer layers run roomy on purpose so a mid-layer fits underneath; if you are between two numbers, take the smaller one.
I missed a release I wanted. Will it come back around?
Sometimes. Core layers are cut again most seasons, while limited runs are made once and retired. Tap the reminder bell on any sold-out listing and we will write to you the morning it returns.
Who is Thistledown Works?
Thistledown Works is the small studio that designs, sources and packs everything you see here. They have run our workshop since 2019 and answer every note that lands in the inbox.
What sustainability work does Thistledown Works do for Ashfell Supply?
They print to order so nothing is cut without a buyer, ship in unbleached paper mailers with no plastic film, and route offcuts back to the mill that spun the yarn. Last season 82% of the cotton we bought was recycled or grown without irrigation.
What are Thistledown Works' community and climate commitments?
One percent of every order funds footpath repair and access work on upland trails, and the studio publishes an emissions figure each spring alongside what it did and did not manage to cut.
Where is everything manufactured?
Knitwear and jersey are made at two family-run mills in northern Portugal; the waxed cotton outers are sewn in a workshop of 34 people just outside Porto. Both sites are audited yearly and the reports are on our transparency page.
