What is Clipnest?
A quiet place to keep the things you find. Anything you save lands on a shelf you named yourself, with a picture, a note and whatever labels you want to sort it by later.
How does saving work?
Paste a link, drop a file, or clip a page from the toolbar. We read the page once, pull a title and a picture, and drop the result on the shelf you pick.
How do I add a link to a shelf?
Links, pictures, PDFs and plain notes all come in through the + Add item button at the top of any shelf. You can also clip whatever page you are reading with the Clipnest add-on, which runs in every major desktop browser (a phone version is close behind). Setup takes about a minute: read the short guide.
Can I edit the details on an item?
Open the item and edit anything on it — the title, the note, the picture, the labels. Nothing is locked, and the original link stays untouched underneath.
Can I rework my groups and labels?
Rename, merge, reorder or retire them whenever the shape of a shelf stops fitting. Items keep their place; only the label changes.
Can I rename a shelf?
Click the name at the top of the shelf and type a new one. Shared links keep working, so nobody you sent it to has to be told twice.
How do I remove an item?
Use the menu on the item and choose Remove. It sits in the bin for 30 days, so a mistake at midnight is still fixable in the morning.
How do I remove a shelf?
Shelf settings, then Remove shelf. Everything on it goes to the bin together and can be brought back as one piece within 30 days.
Can I move an item to a different shelf?
Drag it across, or pick Move to from the item menu. An item can also sit on two shelves at once if it honestly belongs on both.
Can I merge two shelves together?
Yes. Choose Merge into on the shelf you want to fold away, pick the one that stays, and duplicates are collapsed into a single item as they arrive.
How do I share a shelf?
Invite people by email for a shelf they can add to, or turn on a read-only link for anyone who just needs to look. You can revoke either one later.
What makes a shelf public?
A public shelf is readable by anyone holding the link and can be listed on your profile page. Private notes on an item stay hidden either way.
Is there a phone app?
There is a phone app for saving and reading, and the site itself works on a small screen. Bulk editing is still a desktop job for now.
Where does Clipnest use AI?
In three places only: suggesting labels, writing the one-line summary under an item, and finding near-duplicates. Each one can be switched off per shelf.
What does Clipnest cost?
Nothing for up to 4 shelves. Beyond that it is $7 a month for one person, or $11 per seat for a shared workspace billed to a single account.
How do you handle stored content and data?
Private shelves stay private, we never sell what you save, and nothing you keep here trains an outside model. GDPR requests are answered within 30 days.
How do I flag a problem?
Use Report a problem in the account menu. It sends the page you were on and the last few actions, which usually saves a round of questions.
Can I send you other feedback?
Please do. Half of what shipped last quarter started as a note from someone using it daily, including the bin and the merge tool above.
How do I close my account?
Account settings, then Close account. Export everything first if you want it — the archive is a plain folder of links, files and notes you can open anywhere.
