STILL WONDERING?
How do I join the sponsor pool?
Open the Revenue tab in your dashboard and apply. We look at send volume, open history and reader geography, and most publications hear back inside four working days.
When does a placement get paid out?
Earnings clear 32 days after the issue ships, once click data has settled. Cleared balances are released on the first banking day of the following month.
How is the payment sent to me?
Straight to the bank account on your payout profile. Publications outside the payout currency can switch to a wire transfer in the same settings panel.
How much revenue can a placement bring in?
It tracks engaged readers rather than raw list size. A 12,400-reader trade letter with a 41.6% open rate typically clears more per issue than a 60,000-reader general list.
How can I tell if a placement did well?
Every deal has a live report card: verified clicks, click-through against your own baseline, and the payout accrued so far. It updates for 14 days after the send.
Is the projected payout locked in?
No. The projection is a modelled range built from how comparable letters performed. Final earnings follow verified clicks, so they can land above or below the estimate.
Where should the sponsor block sit in my issue?
Anywhere above the halfway mark of the issue. Blocks placed after the second section read as part of the letter and hold their click rate far better than a footer slot.
Can I sell my own sponsorships in the same issue that carries a Postloom placement?
Yes. The only rule is that a direct sponsor cannot compete with the matched one in the same send. The matching brief lists the category so you can plan around it.
What if the sponsor is a bad fit for my readers?
Decline it. Every offer has a 72-hour review window and passing on one costs you nothing. You can also block whole categories once, in advance, from your brief.
What creative formats are supplied with each deal?
Three: a short text-only note in your voice, a standard block with one image, and a long-form recommendation. Pick whichever sits closest to how your issue already reads.
How many issues does one placement span?
One send, unless the brief says otherwise. Multi-issue runs are offered separately and always state the number of sends and the payout for each of them up front.
Can the same sponsor block repeat within one issue?
Once per send. A second copy of the same block splits the clicks rather than adding to them, and it does not raise what the placement pays you.
Do I need to send Postloom any performance reports?
Nothing manual. The tracked link in the block reports on its own, so all you do is confirm the issue went out on the date you agreed to.
Can I keep working with sponsors I found myself?
Always. Nothing here is exclusive, and your direct relationships stay entirely yours — rates, contacts, invoicing and all. Most publications run both side by side.
Can I take Postloom placements and still run my own paid tiers and other revenue?
Yes — memberships, classifieds, affiliate links and events all sit alongside it. Paid tiers can also be set to skip sponsor blocks if you would rather keep them clean.
Which kinds of publications get the strongest matches?
Letters with a clear subject and a reader a buyer can picture. A weekly on warehouse robotics beats a general business digest of twice the size nearly every time.
