Answers before you pick a plan
The things teams ask us in their first fortnight on Overtide — how the calendar rewrites work, who can see what, and how seats are counted.
How does Overtide decide which meetings it is allowed to move?
Only internal events that you have left flexible are ever rescheduled, and only inside the working window each attendee has set. Anything with an outside guest, a room booking or a manual lock stays exactly where it is.
- Moves are proposed the evening before and applied at 04:00 local time.
- A recurring series is treated as one item, never split across days.
- Any single move can be reversed from the daily digest for 48 hours.
Will my calendar look different to people outside the company?
No. External viewers keep seeing your ordinary busy blocks with the same titles and the same privacy setting you already chose. Held time reads as busy, never as an Overtide label.
What happens to events I have already marked as fixed?
They are treated as walls. Everything flexible is arranged around them, and the daily digest tells you when a fixed event is the reason a block of deep work could not be protected.
Which calendar providers can I connect?
Any provider that speaks CalDAV, plus a direct two-way sync for the two calendar suites most workplaces already run. A personal calendar can be layered on top as busy-only, so private events never leave your account.
Can an admin roll this out across a whole department at once?
Yes. Admins on the Group and Org plans can provision from your directory, set a default working window per region, and switch rescheduling to suggest-only until people opt in.
How is a seat counted if someone only joins for one quarter?
Seats are counted on the day the invoice is raised. A contractor added mid-quarter is charged pro rata for the days they were active, and removing them credits the remainder to the next invoice automatically.
Where is meeting data stored, and how long is it kept?
Event metadata lives in the region you pick at sign-up and is deleted 62 days after an event ends. Attachment contents are never read. Full deletion of a workspace completes within 14 days of the request, in line with GDPR.
What is in the trial, and what happens on the last day?
Every Group feature is open for 21 days with no card required. When the trial closes the workspace drops to the free tier, keeps its history, and simply stops rearranging the calendar until someone picks a plan.
