Mostly textures that sit behind everything else — dub-adjacent ambient, warm tape hiss, long washed-out pads. Tempo I stay between 70 and 95, nothing spiky or over-compressed. The mood I'm after is patient and widescreen, good for late shifts or grey afternoons indoors. A little brushed-drum jazz creeps in as well, and vocals should stay buried — wordless takes or half-whispered lines land best for me. Lately I keep two or three long mixes on repeat instead of singles, so how a set holds together matters more to me than any one track does.
