Every service request that ends in a signature is a chance to lose a day. If your agents close tickets in Fieldstone ITSM but chase approvals over email, the handoff between the two becomes the slowest step in an otherwise automated workflow.
Connecting Inkline Sign directly to your service desk removes that gap. Agreements are generated, routed, and countersigned inside the same ticket that triggered them — and the completed record lands back in Fieldstone automatically, with a full audit trail attached.
Why integrate signing into your service desk
Service desks are built to move work forward, but most of them stall the moment a document needs a legally binding signature. Hardware loan agreements, access authorizations, vendor onboarding forms, and policy acknowledgments all get exported, emailed, printed, and re-attached by hand.
With the Inkline Sign connector for Fieldstone ITSM, the signature step becomes just another workflow stage. Agents never leave the ticket, requesters sign from any device, and compliance teams get consistent, searchable completion certificates instead of scanned PDFs scattered across inboxes.
Setting up the connector
Installation takes about fifteen minutes for a Fieldstone administrator. Before you start, make sure you have the following in place:
- An Inkline business plan with API access enabled
- Fieldstone ITSM version 9.2 or later with the Marketplace add-on catalog
- An integration user in Fieldstone with workflow-editor permissions
- A verified sending domain for signature request emails
- At least one published Inkline template mapped to a ticket type
From the Fieldstone Marketplace, install the Inkline Sign connector and paste in the API key generated from your Inkline admin console. The connector adds a new Send for signature action to the workflow editor, along with field mappings that pull requester name, asset details, and cost center straight from the ticket.

Automating approvals end to end
Once the connector is live, build the rest of the loop. Configure a workflow rule so that when an envelope reaches Completed status in Inkline, the connector writes the signed document back to the ticket, stamps the completion certificate into the activity log, and transitions the ticket to its next stage — no agent intervention required.
Teams that automate this round trip typically cut signature turnaround from days to hours. Declined or expired envelopes can reopen the ticket with a templated follow-up task, so nothing silently falls through. The result is a service desk where the signature is no longer a detour — it is simply the fastest step in the workflow.
