A juvenile grey seal turned up eleven miles inland after last week’s surge, hauled out on a flooded car park in Donegal. The rescue crew kept her cool with wet towels for six hours until the tide dropped, then walked her back down the drain channel by torchlight. She swam off without once looking back, which is the highest compliment a seal can pay you.
