Working draft

On my first morning in the workshop, the senior binder offered a rule I have carried into every commission.

“Before you trim a page,” she said, “understand which detail gives the whole piece its balance.”

She left the thought there. Years later, I still pause before each cut, looking for the quiet choice that holds the work together.
