What is a channel for, and when should our team open a new one?

A channel is a shared room where recordings, transcripts and follow-ups stay together, so anyone who joins later can catch up without being forwarded a single file.
What a channel holds
- Every capture posted to it, with its transcript and highlights attached.
- Anything the assistant drafts from those captures, kept in the same thread.
Why teams open one
- Keeps one workstream in one place instead of scattered across inboxes.
- Sorts long recordings by topic rather than by the date they happened.
- Lets the assistant answer questions using only that room's material.
- Gives newcomers a running summary the moment they are added.
- Cuts the number of one-to-one messages asking for the same recap.
Kinds of channels
- Open rooms, which anyone in the workspace can find and join.
- Closed rooms, which stay hidden until someone with access invites you.
Looking after one
- Add or drop members at any time from the Members tab (owners can do more).
- Rooms can be renamed, archived, or switched from open to closed later on.
- Deleting a room removes its captures for everybody, so it cannot be undone.
Opening a new one
- Go to CHANNELS in the left navigation and pick the plus control.
