Questions partners ask most

How do I join the Backlot partner program?

Fill in the short application, confirm your email, and your tracked link is generated the same day. There is no fee and no minimum audience size.

How do the payouts work?

Payments land in your account by the 12th of each month.
Here is what a typical cycle looks like:

  • June 1 – June 30: you earn rewards on every qualifying referral
  • July 1: your partner reward invoice is generated and sent to Backlot
  • July 1 – July 6: our finance team reviews the invoice
  • July 7: the approved reward invoice is charged
  • July 7 – July 11: funds clear over a four-day settlement window
  • July 12: rewards become available for partners to withdraw
  • July 12 onward: move the balance to a bank account or PayPal
How are referrals attributed to me?

Your link drops a first-party cookie that stays valid for 90 days, so a visitor who returns later still counts toward your balance.

What happens if someone buys an annual plan?

Annual contracts pay out in one lump sum: 22% of the full contract value, released after the customer clears their 30-day refund window.

What if a customer upgrades or downgrades?

Your reward always tracks what they actually paid that month, so an upgrade lifts your payout and a downgrade lowers it for the remaining months.

Which traffic sources aren't allowed?

Paid search on our brand terms, coupon-scraping directories, unsolicited email blasts, and any form of self-referral will void the commission.

Where do I track my earnings?

Every partner gets a dashboard with clicks, trials, conversions, and pending versus payable balance, refreshed a few times an hour.

Do I have to be a Backlot customer?

No. Plenty of partners have never had an account. That said, partners who use the product themselves convert roughly three times as often.
