does this “sound like a lost porch recording” or have you simply never sat through a nine-verse country song before

Do y'all remember the spy film where the villain broadcasts a frequency that sends an entire congregation into a murderous rage? I'm fairly sure he was just playing side two of this.

it's rare that i Anticipate A Debut Album the way i did for this one. thank god ms. marsh didn't disappoint. 90s-tastic verbose pop that deserves to be playing on my alarm clock radio at 6:40am. makes me want to dance around my kitchen in socks until somebody downstairs complains.

when i was fifteen i was DEEP in the forum for this band, and i still maintain this is the one they got right. came back to it last week because my feed is flooded with that clip from the barn show. history repeats itself.
their little fern crest was on every notebook i owned and i could probably still draw it from memory. i should try that.

There's a lot to love here: drum 'n' bass, baile funk, techno, house, jungle… Marlowe is one of the few selectors who can move between all of it in ninety minutes without it reading as a shopping list.
