Olá! We are Marta and Duarte, two teachers from the Beira Language Room, and we run these hours on the parts of Brazilian Portuguese that textbooks tend to skip. Each session stands on its own — nothing builds on the week before, so you can join one, miss three, and still follow along.

Sample topics: filler words that buy you thinking time, the diminutive as politeness, ordering food without pointing, saying no gently, and the four ways people actually answer the phone.

The level says early intermediate, but plenty of people at other levels get something out of it. You should be comfortable reading the alphabet aloud before you join.
