About this exhibition
For fifteen years, four photographers worked the dry docks of the Sado estuary with borrowed cameras and expired film. What they left behind is a record of a working town that no longer exists in that shape — welders on night shift, canteen queues, the last ship to leave the slipway in 1989.
This is the first time the full set of 214 prints has been shown together. Curator Inês Varela opens the afternoon with a 25-minute walkthrough at 14:30, and two of the surviving photographers will take questions at 16:00.
Entry is free but the room holds 90 people at a time, so a reserved slot guarantees you get in. Prints are for sale in the back gallery; proceeds go to the estuary archive.
