Keep this page open while you work — it is the reference the studio edits together, holding
naming, tone and layout steady from the first sketch through to final handoff.
Craft Principles
Corvidane pairs restless visual experiments with a disciplined production system. We chase unusual ideas without ever losing the thread of the brief we were handed.
Work should feel considered before it feels clever. Form follows the argument, and the argument follows the problem the client actually described to us.
How We Write
- Direct: Lead with the useful sentence and cut the runway in front of it.
- Warm: Write the way a colleague explains work, never the way a brochure does.
- Curious: Name the tension inside a brief instead of quietly smoothing it over.
- Plain: Jargon survives only if someone hired last week would understand it.
Layout Rules
Our visual system has to stay legible at speed, so a reader can find the shape of an idea before reading:
- Type carries the hierarchy before a single colour is applied
- A narrow palette, used at full strength or left out entirely
- Photography chosen for the moment it captures, not for polish
- Grids that keep room to breathe at every breakpoint
Publishing Rhythm
We keep the studio visible without turning the work itself into content:
- Process notes posted while a project is still visibly unfinished
- Case studies that argue for a decision rather than only showing it
- Seasonal essays on where our corner of the craft is heading
Treat this document as a living reference. Propose changes in the margin as you go, and we settle them together at the close of every studio sprint.
