Bellamont works between the archive and the studio floor. We keep an editorial eye on everything that leaves the building, from a caption to a cover.

Our house style favours the plain word over the decorated one, and the long look over the quick take. What we publish should still hold up on a second reading.

Voice & Register

• Measured: we let the evidence carry the sentence rather than the adjective.
• Specific: a named place and a real date beat a general claim every time.
• Warm: we write to a reader we respect, not past them.
• Unhurried: we would rather publish late than publish thin.

Visual System

The visual system exists to keep a wide range of stories recognisably ours:

• One text face, set at a generous measure
• Two paper tones and a single ink accent
• Photography credited in the same breath as the story
• Rules and margins that stay put across formats

Publishing Plan

The plan sets what we owe a reader across a quarter:

• One long feature reported over six to eight weeks
• A weekly letter that shows the working, not just the result
• An archive re-read that puts an old piece back in play

Editors keep this page open while they work; anything that contradicts it here is a change to propose, not a rule to ignore.
