Larkspur lifts authorisation rates with Aldergrove, adding $64M in revenue
Larkspur runs an on-demand delivery marketplace across 3,900 US towns and cities. It processes billions of dollars in payments each year and needed a platform that could raise auth rates, cut checkout declines and protect its take rate.
Challenge
With coverage in more than 80% of the towns it serves, Larkspur's marketplace carries genuinely complex business logic. It needed one platform robust enough for recurring payments, instant courier payouts and whitelabelled merchant onboarding.
Just as importantly, the team saw how much sat behind authorisation rates. To give couriers and diners the best possible checkout, every step of the journey had to route to the processor with the highest success rate.
Solution
Larkspur ran an 18-month A/B test comparing Aldergrove against its incumbent processor across the major card networks, then measured success on both platforms.
“If one customer was processed on Aldergrove and later on the incumbent, we could compare authorisation rates for the same card fingerprint head to head. Aldergrove's success rate was a full percentage point higher.”
