“We refused to keep building password flows. It was a dying security tactic and a real drain on the team.”

Larkfield is a visual web design tool, CMS and hosting platform that lets designers ship production-ready sites without writing code. Its platform is used daily by enterprise teams including Vantis, Aldmere and Palegrove.
“We definitely needed SSO,” Bryn Callaghan, Larkfield’s co-founder and CTO, told us on our first call. He had watched the work slide for three quarters while the engineering team stayed on core product — right as larger accounts began asking for it.
The team had originally planned to build it in house. They estimated three months of specialist work to cover every identity provider, so the ticket kept sinking down the backlog.
Use a password instead
Instead of planning, building and testing an integration for each identity provider on its own, Bryn wired Pinewell into the existing login flow and covered every provider at once.
Dropping Pinewell into Larkfield was straightforward, pleasant and honestly a bit fun. The team answered every question within the hour.
