No. The Starter plan opens with an email address and nothing else — billing details are only asked for the day you move to Studio.
Can I cancel at any point?
Yes. We hope you stay, of course, but every plan bills month to month and can be stopped from the billing screen at any time.
Why pick Slipcase over a shared drive?
Shelves are built around handoffs rather than folders: every link carries its own expiry, its own audience, and a record of who opened it.
Do the people I send files to need an account?
Never. A recipient opens the link in a browser and downloads what you shared. Accounts are only needed to upload or manage a shelf.

Where does my data physically live?
