About This Class
This class is a slow, careful walk through the shapes that make brush lettering read well — the downstroke, the hairline, and the pause between them. We start with a single pointed brush and one sheet of layout paper, and we do not move on until the stroke feels repeatable.
By the end you will have drawn a full lowercase alphabet, sketched three composition thumbnails, and inked one finished quote card you can hang up or hand off. 1,247 students have posted a project from this class so far, and 47.2% of them had never held a lettering brush before.
