Buttons

Buttons trace back to the physical pushbutton — the raised key on a radio, a lift panel, a camera shutter. On screen they kept the same promise: press here, something happens right now.

The label carries most of the weight. Lead with the verb the person came to perform — "Add to Bag", "Send invite", "Publish draft" — so the action is legible without reading a word of the copy around it.
