Each autumn the Review’s rowing eight, the Ashgrove Eight, takes the lower Wend against any journal that fancies its chances before breakfast. This year the crew cap, drawn for us by the illustrator Wren Halloway, has been made up for readers as well, in the two colours the crew has worn since the club was founded in 1951. Membership of the eight is not required — only a fondness for cold water.
Material: undyed lambswool, hand-framed in a 2×2 rib. Cotton-taped band, folded brim, and a woven label at the seam.
