Why this work is worth a decade
Quercitron is a biomaterials company. We grow, extract, and refine tannins from forestry off-cuts so that tanneries, paper mills, and finishers have something to reach for other than petrochemistry. The work is slow, unglamorous, and genuinely hard. If you would rather chase a ten-year problem than a ten-day feature, we should talk.

Say the hard thing early
A problem raised in week one is a conversation. The same problem raised in month six is a recall. We would rather be uncomfortable on a Tuesday than expensive in the autumn.
Bet on the slow curve
Most of what we try will not work, and the parts that do will take years to prove. So we design for the long experiment: small batches, honest records, and a willingness to bin a promising result that refuses to repeat. Progress here is a graph you can only read from a distance.
Answer to the material
Bark, water, and heat do not negotiate. When the data and the story disagree, the material is right and the story gets rewritten. Everything else is opinion held at volume, and volume is not evidence.
Leave the bench cleaner
Whoever picks up your work next should not have to reconstruct your reasoning. Label the jars, write the note, name the file. Tidiness is respect for the next person.
Decide, then commit
Argue hard, decide once, and stop relitigating. A sound decision made in March beats a perfect one made in September, and most of them are cheaper to reverse than to delay.
Keep the joy in it
This is forestry, chemistry, and a long run of failed batches. If the work stops being interesting, something has gone wrong with how we set it up — not with you. Tell us early.
