What we believe:

  The distance between what a team already knows and what it can act on is the quietest and most expensive tax on the work.

  That distance closes without another dashboard. It is mostly a question of where the knowledge sits, who is trusted to change it, and how fast a correction travels back to the people doing the work.

  Two things decide whether it closes: the record a team keeps, and the habits around it. Neither one is in good shape today, because:

    Too much of the day disappears into hunting for what already exists, moving it between tools, and redoing work finished months ago.

    Keeping a careful record gets treated as overhead, so the tools for it stayed dull while everything around them got sharper. Imagine how much steadier a year would feel if keeping the record was something a team genuinely wanted to do, rather than had to.
