Finance for independent media

Built for studios that make stories last.

Storywell gives independent publishers, podcasts, and production teams a clearer way to manage cash, fund new work, and plan through uneven release cycles.

Our mission

Creative businesses deserve finance that understands the work.

Traditional products assume steady invoices, predictable growth, and simple inventory. Studios live by a different rhythm: rights arrive late, projects overlap, and the next season must be funded before the last one pays out.

We give teams a reliable view of what is available now, what is committed, and what comes next.

Our story

From a missed royalty payment to a more useful ledger.

  1. The first Storywell prototype began after a small audio studio waited five months for a distributor report while payroll landed every other Friday.
  2. We interviewed producers, editors, agents, and independent founders. Their spreadsheets were ingenious, but the financial products around them ignored how rights-based work actually moves.
  3. In 2022 we opened a pilot with twelve teams. They helped shape project-level reserves, revenue schedules, and the clear language we still use today.
  4. Now we support studios across film, audio, newsletters, and interactive media while keeping our earliest promise: every number should have a story you can trace.
