Every maker deserves an open market
At Saltbrook, we care about a kind of digital good that behaves like a real one: a file with a deed attached. The record of who owns it sits on a shared ledger, so a piece can be lent out, resold, or handed to a friend in Lisbon without anyone asking us first. Makers set their own resale cut and keep it for the life of the work — 6.5% is the median here today. We don’t hold the work, we don’t hold the keys, and we don’t get to decide what counts as art. Since 2019 we’ve settled 84,300 sales for 12,740 independent makers.
